What is VAST or Video Ad Serving Template?

VAST or Video Ad Serving Templates are used to shape ad tags that are presented to video players. It was developed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) in 2008 when the demand for video advertising was rising.

VAST transfers the metadata from the main video ad slot using eXtensible Markup Language (XML) schema. In short, VAST is a script that allows video players and ad servers to communicate effectively, ensuring that a video ad will play in an expected way, providing a seamless experience for the user.

How to Use VAST in Blogger and WordPress ?

First we should think about the web video player, and after making an effort in searching for a video player, I got the best free video player, which is FLUID Player .

  • Video Player Features:

- Compatible with video advertising
industry standards VAST and VPAID

- Integrate our WordPress Plugin
and CDN hosted player

- Enables easy manipulation of a number
of properties after initialisation

- Video streaming support for
MPEG-DASH and HLS streaming protocols

- VR support

- Support for dynamic frontend frameworks
including Vue.js, React and Angular

  • How to add VAST on Blogger & WordPress ?

We go to our advertising company (e.g. Adsterra), we go to VAST ads, we copy the link and we go directly to the FLUID Player website.

We go down where there is Player Builder.

We turn on the button Autoplay (you can not turn it on).

Go to button Advertising.

And we run all the features ( Pre-roll , Mid-roll , Post-roll , On pause roll ).

And we paste the link in each ( Pre-roll URL , Mid-roll URL , Post-roll URL , On pause-roll URL )

And in the end we copy the JavaScript code .

Very important

In the second line in JavaScript code, change "video.mp4" to "#" or to url video blogger or WordPress.

Then paste it into the place for ads in the Blogger template .
